Image Spotlight – Abruptly Autumn
In today’s spotlight we are looking at a multi exposure image from Spicer forest. The image is of my wife walking through the forest with the Autumn colours surrounding her. This image was created taking multiple photos walking behind her as she walked down the path rather then previous images we have looked at which are taken 360 degrees around the subject.
What I like
- My favourite part of the images is the intense layering in the Autumn leaves. Multiple textures and subtle colour shift from gold to green I find pleasing to the eye.
- The contrast between the green of the grass and golden leaves with Brookes black silhouette.
- I love the dark murkiness around the trunks on the left hand side of the image, it creates a feeling of mystery.
- The overall composition is great – I like how the path weaves it’s way from right to left and the size of Brooke in the scene.
What I would change now
- The trunks on the left hand side are quite subdued, I think brightening the trunks slightly would help balance the overall scene.
- I’m not entirely happy with the shape of the silhouette, if I could cut a part out of the right hand side it would create more movement and be more flattering.
Overall I’m really happy with the image – A keeper for sure
